The Phoenix Care Foundation recently delivered much-needed support to hundreds of families through its successful Hamper Drive held at Rydalpark Secondary School in Phoenix.
The initiative brought together over 480 recipients, each receiving a generously packed hamper aimed at easing their burdens during challenging times.
In addition to the hampers, attendees were welcomed with warm, freshly prepared meals of Haleem and Akni. This act of hospitality created a meaningful sense of togetherness and compassion, reinforcing the idea that support extends beyond material aid; it is also about dignity and connection.
Haroon Yusuf, Director of the Phoenix Care Foundation, expressed sincere appreciation to those who made the day possible. “Our donors play a vital role in everything we do. Their support allows us to reach those who need help the most, and we are deeply grateful for their commitment to uplifting others,” he said.
Equally vital to the success of the event was the presence of a dedicated team of volunteers. From early morning preparations to the smooth execution on the day, their passion and willingness to serve stood out. “The spirit shown by our volunteers was truly inspiring. They gave their time selflessly, making sure every detail was handled with care and respect. Their dedication is what fuels the heart of this foundation,” he said.
Many families in communities like Phoenix continue to face food insecurity and financial strain. Initiatives such as the hamper drive provide crucial short-term relief, but they also serve as a reminder of the deeper, ongoing challenges that require sustained attention from both community stakeholders and broader social systems.
“This drive was not just about handing out food. It was about bringing people together, reminding each other that we are not alone, and that kindness still thrives in our communities,” said Yusuf.
The foundation welcomes those who wish to get involved or contribute in any way.
