Firebrand Palestinian political activist and human rights lawyer, Lema Nazeeh (31) of Ramallah will be holding two interactive sessions this afternoon (Friday).

The first one – for ladies only – will be held at the Suleman Lockhat Auditorium, at 222 Kenilworth Road, Overport, starting at 2.30pm.  The second session will be held at the Nelson Mandela Community Youth Centre in Chatsworth, at 6.30pm.

Nazeeh was invited to South Africa to be part of the 15th international #IsraeliApartheidWeek (IAW) event being held across South Africa and parts of Africa.

Nazeeh, a firebrand lawyer who also defends Palestinian political prisoners, is deputy chairperson of the Popular Struggle Coordination Committee (PSCC), which operates in Occupied Palestinian Territories.

Meanwhile On Monday April 8, Palestinian author and human rights activist Badee Dwaik, will be in Pietermaritzburg for an interactive session with attendees after the screening of a Palestinian film called “Forever Pure”. The event will be held at Room 62, School of Education Building, UKZN, Golf Road, Scottsville.

This year’s theme for the 15th international #IsraeliApartheidWeek (IAW) is called “Africa for Palestine”. The event is being held simultaneous in other African countries, such as Zambia, Botswana, Swaziland, Lesotho, Namibia, Kenya, Nigeria and Mozambique. 

The campaign is focusing on, among other things, the historic relationship between African liberation struggles and that of the Palestinians.
