Chilli Con Carne


Recipe by The Daily Dilemna

Ingredients

  • 500g mince/ground beef
  • 1 onion – chopped or sliced
  • 2 green chillies
  • 4 cloves of garlic – sliced
  • 3 tblsp Olive oil
  • 1 green pepper – cut into small cubes
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Lemon pepper
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 2 tsp Cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp Dry parsley
  • 1 tsp Chilli flakes
  • 1 tsp Origanum
  • 3 tsp Paprika
  • 3 tsp crushed cumin (jeeru)
  • 1 tin chopped tomatoes
  • 1 packet tomato paste
  • 2 tblsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tin Red Kidney Beans
  • Avocado, Creme fraiche/sour cream
  • Tortilla chips, Lemon, Chives

Directions:

  1. Fry onion, green chilli and garlic slices in olive oil. Add in chopped green pepper. Once onions are lightly browned, add in mince. Fry for a few minutes.
  2. Add in all the spices and mix through. Add in tomato, tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce. Mix and cook for a few minutes. Add in kidney beans and cook.
  3. Top with lemon wedges, avocado, creme fraiche and chives. Serve with tortilla chips, tortillas, rice or tacos.
