The chairman of As-Salaam Combined School has congratulated the principal Mrs H. Allijan, staff and learners for attaining a 100% pass in two successive years since the introduction of Grade 12 in 2019.
Despite the challenges faced in 2020 with the pandemic, the learners displayed resilience, dedication and commitment which enabled them to complete the academic year successfully.
“Such success rests on the unwavering commitment and passion of the teaching and support staff and a nurturing partnership with our parents and community,” said a spokesman for the school.
Subjects in which 100% passes were obtained include English Home Language; IsiZulu First Additional Language; Physical Science; Life Sciences; Geography; Business Studies an Life Orientation.
Top achiever, S’Bane Sihle Ngcobo bagged 4 distinctions in IsiZulu 85%, Mathematics 89%, Physical Science 83% and Life Orientation 94%.
An As-Salaam spokesperson said: “As we look forward to the challenges and possibilities for the class of 2021, we congratulate and celebrate with the class of 2020. As-Salaam extends its well wishes to the learners for their future endeavours.”
The principal has dedicated this achievement to the late Mr Ismail Ally who was responsible for the introduction of the FET phase at the school. He would be remembered for being a great source of inspiration to all at As-Salaam Combined School.
