The Human Resource Development Programme (HRDP) received a record number of applicants for its 14th annual Leadership Development Programme (LDP) and attributes this to the successful launching of its on-line application process.
“We received over 110 applications from diverse organizations in SADC countries”, said chairperson, Asif Essop.
“The HRDP is also pleased to note that there has been an increase in the number of professionals and women applying to participate in our 6-day LDP. Our Recruitment Committee had a difficult task selecting suitable candidates this year”, he added.
Sheikh Adam Macheso, deputy chairperson of HRDP, who served on the Recruitment Committee said: “It was a real challenge, but we were guided by a set of criteria that had been developed to select our candidates. The rest will be placed on a waiting list.”
He added: “Due to the demand we increased our numbers from 40 to 60 trainees”
The LDP will take place at the MA Motala Islamic Centre in Wyebank, Durban, South Africa from 30th September to 06th October 2018. It is an internal two-year certificate training with parallel programmes run for 1st Year and final year trainees.
