New SAHUC board will serve at ‘highest level’

The South African Hajj and Umrah Council (SAHUC) have announced the appointment of the new Office Bearers for the next two years following their Annual General Meeting last weekend.

The new President and Board members thanked the previous Executive for the sterling work they had carried out during the last two years, adding that their efforts have ensured that pilgrims under their care were facilitated in a smooth and efficient manner.

The new executives promised they would continue with the trend of “serving the Hujaaj to the “highest possible level” in their term of office.

The in-coming office bearers of SAHUC are: President Muhammad Vaid; 1st Deputy President Shaheen Essop; 2nd Deputy President Ismail Kholvadia; Secretary General Moaaz Casoo; Assistant Secretary General Hassan Choonara; Treasurer Asif Essop and Assistant Treasurer Muhammad Maiter. The Board Members: are: Muhammad Ameer; Qari Moosa Seedat and Sedick Steenkamp.

Three additional members (Chairs of the regions) will make up the balance of the Board following the regional elections.

In a media statement, the Secretary General, Hafiz Moaaz Casoo and the newly-elected President, Ml. Muhammad Vaid, said: “We make Duaa that The Almighty grant us all the ability to fulfill that which He has entrusted us with, with integrity, professionalism and with His Guidance, Ameen.”
