Mazda CX 5 – a stylish and well-priced game changer

By Al Qalam correspondent

For far too long Mazdas but have under-rated; but medium sized crossovers like the CX5 are changing the game. The previous version was impressive and so is this one –its 10mm longer, 35mm lower and has a meaner look – and is arguably the best-looking vehicle in its class. The 3D grille adds a sophisticated feel; a huge improvement from the last version.

The inside of the vehicle is especially impressive. Here is where most of the improvement has been. These days many are keen to first have a glance at the infotainment system before deciding on a car; and the CX5 has a fast, larger and higher resolution screen. The dials have a modern feel but it could do with some built in apps.
One cannot complain about the legroom although, despite some improvement, boot space could be better. The touch button tailgate on the Akera is a pleasure.

The Mazda CX5 may not be an expensive German SUV but the cabin is more or less noise free and engine noise is minimal. This too, is a massive improvement from the previous version.
This is a stylish SUV, priced right and not shabby off road. Another plus is the
3-year/unlimited km warranty and the 3-year/unlimited km service plan.
